Product Overview

Swing gates are one of the most widely used access control solutions, typically consisting of one or two hinged leaves. Suitable for both residential and commercial environments, they provide a practical balance of security, convenience, and visual appeal.

When automated, they eliminate the need for manual operation, improving ease of access while enhancing the overall presentation of a property. With a long history in gate automation, Electro Automation has been delivering these systems since the 1980s, combining proven experience with modern motor technology to ensure efficient and reliable performance.

Operation & Integration

Swing gate automation uses electrically powered actuators to control the movement of each gate leaf, managed by a central control panel to ensure smooth and consistent operation. Systems can be operated via remote controls, keypads, intercoms, or integrated access control platforms, allowing flexibility across private and commercial applications.

Modern installations incorporate safety features such as photocells and obstacle detection to prevent accidents and protect users, vehicles, and property. Brushless motor technology improves efficiency and reduces power consumption, while irreversible operators provide mechanical locking without the need for additional locking devices on gates up to specified sizes. Options include above-ground systems using rams or articulated arms, as well as heavy-duty hydraulic solutions for high-traffic environments.

Installation & Support

Installation is configured based on gate size, usage frequency, and site conditions, with both underground and above-ground automation options available. Underground systems are designed to preserve the appearance of the gate, while above-ground solutions offer cost-effective installation and ease of maintenance.

Systems can accommodate large gate leaves, with automation available for spans of up to 7 metres per leaf. All operators are designed for durability, featuring galvanised foundation components and high IP-rated protection for outdoor use. Manual release mechanisms are included as standard to allow operation during power failure, and hydraulic systems are available for sites requiring intensive, high-frequency use such as apartment complexes or commercial entrances.
