Our Story

Four decades of
engineering excellence

Our journey began in Dublin in 1984, with a simple belief: exceptional automation solutions should be supported by top‑quality engineers, equipment, and unparalleled technical after‑sales service. That combination of technical excellence and genuine care resonated immediately with customers and set the foundation for everything that followed.

Demand grew quickly. Within just one year, we expanded into Northern Ireland with the establishment of Electro Automation (NI) in Lisburn, County Antrim. This move allowed us to support customers across the region more effectively and strengthened our presence across the island of Ireland.

In 2019, the Group expanded further with the acquisition of EDS in Birmingham, now Electro Automation UK. This strategic move added dedicated manufacturing capabilities and extended our reach across all of Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Our journey of innovation continued in 2022 with the launch of NEAT Gates, a specialist division dedicated to the design, manufacture, and installation of premium aluminium gates, fencing, pergolas, wall cladding, and railings for trade and private clients. NEAT Gates brought a new dimension to our offering, combining craftsmanship, engineering precision, and modern design to deliver solutions that reflect the same standards of quality and reliability that define Electro.

Today, our three locations operate as one integrated Group, delivering industry‑leading automation solutions across Ireland, Northern Ireland, the UK, Europe, and beyond — all supported by the same commitment to service that has defined Electro for over four decades.

1984

Founded in Dublin

Electro Automation established in Dublin, ROI, with a focus on exceptional automation solutions backed by top-quality engineering.

1985

Expansion into Northern Ireland

Electro Automation (NI) opens in Lisburn, County Antrim, extending support across the island of Ireland.

2019

Acquisition of EDS, Birmingham

EDS becomes Electro Automation UK, adding dedicated manufacturing capability and extending reach across the United Kingdom.

2022
