Sales Consultant

Background to the role

Electro Automation is Irelands leading automation company and has branches in Dublin, Lisburn, Surrey, Birmingham and Germany. Based at our Dublin headquarters we require a hands-on highly experienced, self-starting, ambitious working Sales Consultant to join and lead our Dublin sales team. The successful candidate will join our successful sales team which is at the centre of company activity. You will be required to implement our sales policies, objectives and initiatives as part of our great team of experienced sales professionals. You will achieve short and long-term sales strategies and goals and will help launch new product ranges in keeping with market
demands and trends.

You must be familiar with automation of doors, gates, barriers, CCTV, security and Access Control having worked in this or a similar field for some time. You will be well connected and have an established network of high-level local industry contacts. You will be IT literate and technology aware, familiar with the construction sector’s practices and procurement procedures. You will rely
on your extensive experience and judgment to accomplish goals under the direction of our Salesperson. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is encouraged. You will report to the Sales Manager. The successful candidate will understand what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way to reach and exceed your sales targets.

This challenging but rewarding role will require an experienced person who has considerable numbers of established contacts within our industry (or similar), a person with ambition and drive, who is IT aware, someone who has an extensive knowledge and an established contacts list.

  • Education: The Salesperson will preferably have a qualification in Sales, Business, or any other related filed. The equivalent of the same in working experience may also be acceptable for this position. Qualifications or Diplomas by DMI or similar accredited bodies will be considered advantageous.
  • Experience: A candidate for this position must have has at least 3 years’ experience in working in a Senior sales position. A suitable candidate will have had a proven and successful track record in meeting sales targets and goals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. A Technical / Engineering sales background would be a distinct advantage.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The Sales Consultant must have certain personal attributes that make them suitable for the position. Therefore, a candidate must have excellent organizational ability, have an ability to multitask, prioritize and meet tight deadlines. The candidate must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, have excellent decision-making skills, be detail oriented, have excellentcoaching skills, model positive energy and inspire the same in their colleagues, and have an ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
  • MS Office: The Sales Consultant must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams, CRM and PowerPoint, which are necessary for the creation of visually, and verbally engaging presentations for senior management and sales personnel.


Job Description

  • Achieve or exceed realistic weekly, monthly and annual sales targets
  • Create a growing sales pipeline and database
  • Negotiate pricing with customers, and suppliers in some cases
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis for senior management.
  • Update CRM programme in a timely manner recording all sales activity
  • Identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services
  • Seek out the appropriate new contacts
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
  • Understand the needs of our customers and respond effectively
  • Think strategically - see the big picture and set aims and objectives
  • Develop and improve the business
  • Have an excellent technical understanding of our products and services
  • Create promotional strategies and activities with the team
  • Liaise with our other departments as appropriate
  • Keep abreast of market and product trends
