The Square, Tallaght

Electro Automation have supplied and installed a 27-lane car-parking system for The Square Tallaght. There is also a fully comprehensive maintenance and technical support contract in place.

Originally a shopping centre car-park which did not charge for parking, the massive growth in the Tallaght area which included the construction of the AMNCH Hospital and the opening of the Red Luas Line meant that The Square had to quickly address their customers’ parking concerns.

After discussing the client’s full requirements at Project Management stage, it was decided that the Zeag Orion XR parking solution best met their needs and budget constraints.

The scope of the works included the supply, install and maintenance of the following equipment:

  • 14 paystations
  • 14 PE entry lanes
  • 13 PA exit lanes
  • 27 traffic barriers
  • 1 central unit intercom
  • 1 cashier station
  • 1 ZMS work station and server
  • 12 CCTV cameras
  • 5 Variable Messaging Signs (VMS)

The Square Shopping Centre required a robust, reliable and proven system to ensure the efficient flow of traffic in and around their busy car parks.

With enormous quantities of cars using the site each day it was essential that the system facilitated the removal of parking violations, while at the same time ensured that traffic could flow freely while using the system.

Our Installation Supervisor worked closely and successfully with the main contractor and Centre management to complete the transition from uncontrolled to controlled parking.

This involved the installation and commissioning of the Zeag Orion XR Parking system, Commend intercom system, a CCTV system covering all lanes and pay stations, a Variable Message system on the approach roads and user training of the various elements.

After studying the full range of Maintenance Contracts Electro Automation offer, The Square felt that a Platinum Plus contract would be best suited to their needs and budget. This contract offers unlimited free of charge callouts 24 hours, 7 days a week. All equipment failures are covered for both parts and labour - subject to normal Terms & Conditions

Each part of the car-parking system is serviced every month, with the CCTV cameras scheduled for two services per year.

Our engineers and technical support unit can connect into the system from our Headquarters if needed, and provide full diagnostics and reporting remotely. In the unlikely event of a repair not being completed, the faulty equipment is removed from site and a loan unit is supplied free of charge.
