Automatic Swing Doors
Automatic Swing Door operators can be installed to meet various needs ranging from DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) requirements to simply improving
customer convenience. Automatic swing doors are generally specified in areas where pedestrian
traffic is low or where an automatic sliding door cannot be installed.

The design brief required a normal swing door system across the mall
entrances with a feature to automatically drive open the doors in the event
of a fire to facilitate smoke extraction. A facility was also provided
locally (and remotely) to activate these controls for ventilation during hot
weather.
Emergency exit swing doors were automated to open by way of Break Glass
Units (BGU's) or on fire activation, and secured using magnetic locks during
normal operation.
Installed also were Bi-Parting sliding doors for pedestrian access to and
from the car park areas controlled locally with a facility for remote
operation from the central control room.
