Facility Management Awards 2016

The third annual Facilities Management Awards took place on Tuesday, July 5th at the Ballsbridge Hotel Dublin.

Crowds of industry professionals descended into the Ballsbridge Hotel to take their seat at what is fast becoming one of the most important nights of the Facility Management Calendar.

An opportunity to showcase the high quality projects that our FM professionals have worked on. A way to set a benchmark for future projects, dramatically increasing the services we take for granted at commercial and residential sites across the country.

Hosted by Colm O'Regan, and in front of a crowd of hundreds of industry professionals, 18 prestigious trophies were presented to the most outstanding FM projects over the past year and the individuals, teams and organisations’ behind their success.

At Electro we base our business on high levels of service and quality equipment, sponsoring an event like this is a perfect match for us based on the high levels of quality that the shortlisted candidates have produced to get this far. These projects go hand in hand with everything we stand for, organisation, quality, efficiency on site and Health and Safety. We choose to sponsor the ‘Property Management Team of the Year Award’ as it gave us the chance to award a team of hard working individuals whose everyday work can fly under the radar. We were delighted to award the trophy to Laura Teegan of the AIB Estate Management Team.

The AIB Estate Management Team is a specialist team within AIB Property & Facilities Management (PFM), responsible for the management of the Head Office, Branch and ATM network portfolio of over 600 properties across AIB ROI, NI, UK and EBS.  The portfolio consists of a mix of freehold and leasehold properties, requiring significant lease and title management, acquisitions and disposals, as well as rates and insurance liability management.  The team of six professionals in Dublin, plus two in Belfast and London, provide strategic planning services, property analysis, expertise and support in the day to day management of the portfolio.

Meeting with the team after we were able to unearth their reasons for entering. They are exclusively an in-house team and as an in house team, most of what they do is not seen by the industry at large, even though the deals that are negotiated have influenced the market.  This award gave them an opportunity to show exactly how important their contributions are to the industry as a whole and for the team members to see how vital their roles are for their organisation.

To get to this place the team has to contend with varying market conditions while striving to keep costs down in an increasingly competitive market.  With rents increasing, the team have to work hard to challenge rental levels, and to minimize the impact on internal budgets. However, having employed qualified and experienced staff, the AIB Estate Management Team have their finger on the pulse, as is evident by their inclusion in this year’s finalists.

We at Electro would like to once again congratulate the AIB Estate Management Team on winning the Property Management Team of the year Award. We wish you continued success and hope to see you again at the next Facility Management Awards.
