The development consists of 6 linear multi-storey structures incorporating a hotel, a hospital, a conference centre, offices and apartments, 8 smaller buildings, a leisure centre with swimming pool and 7 two-storey buildings inhabiting senior citizens. Elm Park is seen as a vision that promotes sustainable, high density and low energy mixed-use development.
Electro Automation was awarded this contract for the provision of a Security Management System which allows the client manage all of the various security elements from a single control room location on site.
The scope of the contract was for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of an 86 camera IP (Internet Protocol) CCTV system communicating with a central control room, 70 access control points, an integrated Intercom and PA system, an 8-lane automated Car Parking System, 4 Automatic Gates with Access Control and an Emergency Help Point.
Electro Automation were responsible for the Control Room design and fit-out including the provision and installation of all technical furniture, racks, uninterrupted power supplies, video recorders, control software and all related monitors and control equipment.
86 CCTV Cameras are located both internally and externally, with 36 of the cameras being PTZ. Electro Automation also supplied all the camera mounting poles around the site. A total of 70 Access Control Points were installed and integrated back to the security control platform. The key access control points are integrated with the CCTV system to allow any alarms on these doors be captured and stored on the Security Management System.
The residential apartments and the public areas were fitted with an integrated Intercom / Public Address system that allowed control room operators call individual apartments or make announcements in the public areas.
An 8-lane automated Pay On Foot Car Parking system was installed to help manage the 500 spaces located in the basement car park.4 fully automated gates with Access Control, Intercoms and designated CCTV cameras control vehicular access to the site and the various car parks.
Several Emergency Help Point Intercoms were located across the site which integrated directly to the control room. This offered increased protection to people in the basement areas of the car park, amongst other places, by enabling them to contact the control room by pushing the emergency call button.
The Maintenance Contract in place onsite provides two Preventative Maintenance services per year. A Priority service, in which our client will receive a guaranteed response time on any callouts associated with the equipment, is also included. All Maintenance Contract holders with Electro Automation receive a 10% discount on any spare parts needed.
For a commercial site such as Elm Park, European safety standards recommend at least two services per year for a busy entrance. These services must start from the installation date and can affect the warranty on the automatic equipment.
